It explains how to access the course syllabus for key details on schedules and activities, introduces academic integrity and APA Style with citation resources, and provides an overview of the course structure, including assessments and participation requirements for your modality.

Step 1: Update Your Profile and Contact Your Professor

In this first step, update your profile with your information and contact your professor. The following links guide you on how to update your profile and contact information:

For Blended (BLN) courses: When contacting your professor to schedule an appointment, include your current email and phone number to facilitate communication. This appointment allows you to clarify any questions about the course. Additionally, you are required to attend on-ground sessions with your instructor and classmates, which offer opportunities to discuss key concepts and deepen your understanding.

For Online (ONL) courses: Update your profile and contact information, including your current email and phone number, to ensure effective communication. Your instructor will announce session times and dates under Announcements on your course homepage. There are no in-person sessions in this course format.

Step 2: Study and Discuss the Syllabus

The syllabus contains important information that is vital to your successful completion of this course. To view your course syllabus, go to the Syllabus link in the main course menu, where you will also find the course calendar and activities. Read it over carefully.

Step 3: Academic Integrity and APA Style

We seek to equip our students for success as both students and professionals. Maintaining academic integrity is an essential component to achieve this goal. In this step, you will review best practices for academic integrity and avoiding plagiarism, as well as the correct format for citing sources, providing references, and writing papers according to the APA Style Manual.

For examples of how to reference different types of sources in APA format, you can use the following APA Style Quick Guide, APA Style Quick Guides, which will provide you with a quick and easy reference to the basic standards of APA writing style for our institutions, regarding the structure and organization of written works, the different types of citations, and the reference list.

The following guide offers an overview of the use of generative AI within our academic institution. Due to the accelerated development of generative AI, this guide will be updated periodically.

Step 4: Course Content Overview

Each course is structured over four weeks and includes a pretest, discussion forums, assignments, midterm, final assessment and a posttest. Depending on the course, additional quizzes, labs, and projects may be included. The other evaluation criteria categories will be evaluated through specific rubrics for graded activities throughout the course weeks.


For Blended (BLN) courses
: Your participation will include both online activities and in-person sessions. Attendance in the on-ground meetings is required and forms part of your grade. Assignments, quizzes, and assessments will be a mix of online and on-site tasks.

For Online (ONL) courses: All course activities and assessments are completed fully online via the learning platform. Participation is evaluated primarily through discussion forums and submitted assignments within the course site.
